Course content
The content of the course covers 3 major areas. These are assessed both internally and externally as required by ITEC.
- The Practice and Theory of Holistic Massage
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Business Studies and Professionalism
The first 7 weekends concentrate on fulfilling the internal assessment needs and preparing you for 2 external exams. You will be given regular homework including reflective practice sessions, and plenty of related feedback. You will be expected to complete and present a document containing 18 case studies.
The last 3 weekends will deepen your understanding of the techniques and approaches used in holistic massage. This will include a deeper understanding of the relationships between the body, mind, memories and emotions, and how it affects the process of relaxation, healing and ‘let go’.
During the course attention is given to posture and movement - the efficient use of your body is essential to prevent injury or fatigue. Practise sessions are all tutor supervised. The small class numbers ensure individual assistance. Each student’s experience is valued and time is made available for discussion and questions.
The course content is varied and also includes
- Development of intuition
