Holistic Massage Training
A ‘holistic approach’ considers the ‘whole’ person. It includes the physical body, the mind, the emotions and the inner being. Our Holistic Massage Training reflects this. Students learn about massage strokes, anatomy and physiology, business studies and professionalism. We also teach the skills of meditation, grounding, centring and presence. These qualities make the difference between a competent massage and a truly healing experience.
Our groups normally consist of 12 to 16 students. An atmosphere of trust, confidentiality and friendliness is established very quickly within the group. These also are the qualities of a successful massage therapist.
Students can expect to begin with hands-on massage sessions from the very first day of the course. Each weekend will involve giving and receiving 4 massages. We believe it is as important to experience the benefits of receiving a massage stroke as it is to administer the stroke. Students are encouraged to work with an attitude of enquiry.
The next course will start October 2010, in central Edinburgh. The training is ITEC accredited and leads to an internationally recognised ‘Diploma in Massage’ (QCF Level 3). It enables a qualified student to fulfil their insurance requirements and to start working immediately within the field of massage.
